1960 - 2014 | Obituary Condolences
DALE GOETTSCHE Dale Alan Goettsche entered God's kingdom triumphantly Feb. 22, 2014, in Las Vegas, at the young age of 53, surrounded by family. He was born Nov. 29, 1960, in San Jose, Calif., to Karlene Koch and Lawrence Goettsche. He spent his younger years moving around the country with his family living in California, Hawaii, Maine, and Tennessee where he graduated high school. They settled in Salt Lake City, where he met his wife, Gwendolyn Lott. They were married in Overton, Nov. 17, 2001. Dale proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1979 to 1985. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the U.S. Navy never left him, as friends and family will attest. Dale worked in the power industry for the past 13 years and enjoyed his job and co-workers. He was a member of IBEW Local 396 and a founding member of Boy Scout Troop 722. Dale loved his family, friends, country and the Lord. His spiritual strength was a great example to his family and all who knew him. Dale loved the outdoors and spending time camping with his family and friends, riding quads, and target shooting. Dale is survived by his beloved wife, Gwendolyn; his two children, Brandi Goodfellow and PFC Jamie Goodfellow; parents, Lawrence and Karlene Goettsche; siblings, Diane (Michael) Templin, David (Sheri) Goettsche and Don (Marie) Goettsche; and many loving nieces and nephews. Viewing will be 10-10:45 a.m. Saturday, March 1, with funeral services at 11 a.m., both at Mountain View Lutheran Church, 9550 W. Cheyenne Ave. 89129 Las Vegas. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, March 3, at Utah Veterans Cemetery, 17111 S. Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale, Utah 84065. Celebration of life will follow the burial. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Salvation Army in Dale Goettsche's memory, Salvation Army, Attn: Cherie Comer, 2900 Palomino Lane, Las Vegas, NV 89107.
