Obituary Condolences

DR. ROSEMARIE ROTHE Dr. Rosemarie Sarno Rothe, 71, passed away peacefully in Las Vegas, Wednesday, April 17, 2013, in the arms of her devoted husband, of 40 years, Alan, and in the presence of her seven loving children. Rosemarie was born in Lima, Ohio, to James and Antoinette (Daley) Sarno. She graduated from Lima Central Catholic High School. After moving to Ann Arbor, Mich., she earned degrees from the University of Michigan, Eastern Michigan University, and completed her Doctorate of Education from Wayne State University. Rosemarie was an educator in the Ann Arbor pubic schools and an administrator in the adult education program. She enjoyed teaching religious education in Dexter, Mich., and here locally at St. Joseph Husband of Mary Catholic Church. Rosemarie also had a passion for the theatre, and was actively involved for many years with both the Ann Arbor Civic Theatre and the Las Vegas Siena Players as a writer, director and producer. She loved to play golf, travel with her husband, teach religious education to young children, and vacation in Maui in the winter. Rosemarie is survived by her husband, Alan Rothe; her sisters, Nena Sarno and Theresa Cook (Rick) of West Palm Beach, Fla.; her children, and grandchildren, Maureen Groome (Andy) of Satellite Beach, Fla., Kevin Furlong (Greta, Eric, Luke, Julia and Jamie), Colleen Creal (Mike, Andy, Kelly and John), and Tim Furlong (AnnMarie, Dylan, and Jake) of Ann Arbor, Mich., Mark Rothe of Arlington, Va., Ann Nicholson (Sam, Sonora) of Las Vegas, Karen Williams (Stephen, Sarah and Ryan Taylor and wife, Kim) of Denver; one great-grandchild, Brinley Taylor; many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
