1944 - 2014 | Obituary Condolences
ROSEMARIE WILLIAMS RoseMarie R. Williams, 69, of Las Vegas, passed away May 15, 2014, at her home, with family beside her. She was born Aug., 4, 1944, in Reedsburg, Wis., to George and Lorene (nee Gates) Stoughtenger. She graduated high school in Mauston, Wis., in 1962. She was married to David Williams for 16 years. She resided in California working for General Telephone (Verizon) and earned her bachelor of arts and master's degree from the University of Redlands, Calif. She returned to Wisconsin and worked in the human resource department at Sauk County Health Care Center for five years. RoseMarie then moved to Las Vegas, and worked for Clark County from Dec. 4, 2000 to Jan. 21, 2011, when she retired. Her title was Departmental Administrative Service Administrator (DASA) and she worked for the Building Department. For the last three years, she has bravely and courageously fought breast cancer. Throughout this period, she showed much grace and dignity and she chose to be in the research program to help future generations. Two of her greatest joys were working on the Olympics in 1984 at Los Angeles and viewing the exhibition of Tutankhamun in Los Angeles and this was reflected in her home. RoseMarie is survived by her brother V.P. "Pat" Stoughtenger (Rayna) of Reedsburg, Wis.; her twin sister, Roselie Tate of Las Vegas; and numerous nieces, nephews and wonderful friends in California, Wisconsin and Nevada. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Saturday, June 14, with a memorial Mass following, both at Holy Family Catholic Church in LaValle, Wis. A memorial is pending at Red Rock Canyon in Las Vegas. In lieu of flowers, please donate in her name of the Research Program or to Friends of Red Rock Canyon for a natural sandstone tile to be placed on Dedication Walkway with RoseMarie's name and text on it.
