ALFRED DI MEO Alfred Di Meo, "Al," 88, of Las Vegas, passed away at his home Wednesday, June 12, 2013. He was born June 6, 1925, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Lorenzo and Concetta Di Meo. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy
in the North Atlantic during World War II
, after which he happily raised a family of six with his beloved wife, Frances, in East Meadow, Long Island, N.Y. A retiree of Pfizer and United, but we all knew the stock market was his real job, he moved to Las Vegas and lived here more than 20 years. While residing in Las Vegas, he became an amputee and was active in the Las Vegas chapter of the American Amputee Foundation. He also frequented Planet Fitness Health Club, where he inspired many. Alfred was preceded in death by his wife, Frances; and his daughter, Linda Cenkner. He is survived by his sister, Theresa; his children, Concetta, Antoinetta, Cynthia, Lawrence and Frances; his 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; as well as many loving relatives on the East Coast. Alfred, a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, will be missed by all. Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, June 23. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday, June 24, both at Davis Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas.
