CHARLES SAUNDERS

CHARLES SAUNDERS Charles O. "Chuck" Saunders, 82, of Henderson, was welcomed into Heaven Nov. 29, 2012, after battling Alzheimer's. He was born Nov. 15, 1930, in Wadena, Minn., and was a 45-year resident of Nevada. Chuck went on to proudly serve in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He later entered into the business world and was the district manager for Avis Rent-A-Car in Santa Barbara, Calif., and later promoted to Las Vegas, where he managed for 30 years before retiring. He loved all sports and was an avid fisherman and delighted in bringing back his prize catches to family and friends from his many Alaska fishing expeditions. His primary passion was the UNLV basketball team, as both he and his wife followed the team during the glorious Jerry Tarkanian era. They never missed a home or away game. In addition, Chuck, with his two sons and close friends, attended every NCAA Final Four basketball tournament from 1980-1995. The highlight was in Denver 1990, when the "Running Rebels" were national champions. He will be greatly missed by his family and close friends. Chuck is survived by his wife, Pat; two sons, Rockland (Virginia) and Roy (Chris); and four grandchildren, Ryan, Matthew, Norelle and Johnathan.
