DAWN ANDERSON Dawn Moody Anderson, 85, of Las Vegas, passed away peacefully in hospice care Dec. 28, 2012. Velora Dawn Kelly was born in Oasis, Utah, March 22, 1927, to Oscar and Inez Kelly. Dawn married Venor Moody in 1944 and settled in Delta, Utah after the war, where they had three children, Michael, Charalyn and Patricia Jo. A Las Vegas resident since 1956, Dawn retired from the Culinary Union after 35 years, including several years as the pony-tailed carhop at Sills Drive-In (later the Tip Top). Following a divorce, she married Joseph W. Anderson in 1963, and they were together until his death in 1997. She also was preceded in death by her daughters, Charalyn and Patty Jo. Dawn is survived by her brother, Ladd Kelly; sister, Ann Cropper (Dick); son, Michael Moody (Ann); stepsons, Robbie, Randy and Andy Anderson; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Following a viewing and 3 p.m. service Friday, Jan. 4, at the Oasis/Desert, Utah, LDS Chapel, Dawn will be laid to rest with family members at the Oasis Cemetery.
