, Retired Donald "Don" Neff, 77, of Fallon, retired Lt. Colonel and decorated U.S. Air Force veteran
, passed away Dec. 31, 2013. He was born Aug. 23, 1936, in Reno, to the late Albert and Dorothea Neff. He graduated from Fallon High School in 1954, and received a BA and MBA from St. Edwards University, Texas. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1978, with 22 years of military service which included service in Vietnam. He married the late Barbara Bates in 1958. They lived in many states as they travel with his military service before settling in Las Vegas. After Barbara's passing, he married the late Bette Ellis in 1990, and they lived in Fallon. He loved to fly and seized every opportunity to take to the skies. He was an outdoor sports enthusiast. He also loved to travel, and spent much of his time visiting friends and family or traveling abroad. He is survived by his sister, Virginia Carbery of Freemont, Calif.; and his four children, Greg (Sheryl) of Las Vegas, Connie Stacy of Louisville, Ky., Donna (Willie) Schoenbeck of Pueblo West, Colo., and Joey Neff of Camas, Wash. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services with full military honors will be at 10:40 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City. Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to Homes For Our Troops, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Salvation Army.
