DOUGLAS BAKER Douglas Craig Baker, 85, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away on Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, with his family by his side, in Henderson. Douglas was born Feb. 10, 1928, to George Clinton Brown and Sylvia Lydia (nee Bloomfield) Brown of Toronto, Canada. Douglas served in the U.S. Army
during World War II
and the Korean War
. He was a resident of Las Vegas for 54 years. Doug was an avid golfer. He loved photography and was a great skier. Douglas loved to build things and enjoyed fine cuisine and a good glass of wine. He had a keen sense of humor, was an engineer at heart, played piano and loved music. Douglas was preceded in death by his mother and father; brothers; sisters; and great-grandson, Riley Baker. Doug is survived by his loving wife, of over 57 years, Alice Baker; daughters, Beverly Jackson and Julia Anthony; sons, Scott Sessberg-Baker and Douglas Alan Baker; grandchildren, Jason, Justine, Sean, Cameron, Ashly, Jaimee, Shane, Nicholas and Emma; and great-grandchildren, William, Saxon, Carter and Leon. We are especially grateful to Family Home Hospice and NurseCore for their compassionate care. Memorial services will be at 12:40 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive in Boulder City.
