JACK CARMICHAEL Jack Carmichael, known by all as Grandpa Jack, of Las Vegas, peacefully joined our Lord in Heaven Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at the age of 81, following open-heart surgery. He was encircled by family and friends as his heart of gold pumped its final beat. Born in St. Louis, and raised in Chicago, Jack served in both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force before moving to Minneapolis to pursue his creative passions. As the founder of Carmichael-Lynch Advertising, Jack was regarded as one of the most talented creative directors in the industry, seeing his work lauded for its originality and ingenuity. Never one to be complacent, Jack left C-L to pursue his true passion, creating over 100 board games, including the well-known "Mr. President." In 2005, while residing in Las Vegas, Jack was baptized and dedicated his life to Christ. It was then that he realized his calling as an author. In addition to several novels, his collection of spiritual poems, "Grandpa Jack's Purpose Driven Poems" has also been published. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Ethel. Jack is survived by his wife, JaeJae; six children, Carey (Gary) Wennerlyn of Minnesota, Lori (Bruce) Rick of Minnesota, Linda (Duane) Neiffer of Oregon, Steve (Amy) Carmichael of Minnesota, Tracy (Jose) Noble of Nevada, and Jon Carmichael of Nevada; brother, Mike Carmichael of Tennessee; sister, Jane Houlton of Minnesota; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, and their children; and countless loving and dear friends. There will be a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March, 9, at Hope Church, 850 E. Cactus Ave., Las Vegas.
