JACK DAGGETT

JACK DAGGETT Jack D. Daggett went home to be with the Lord Jan. 18, 2013. Born June 23, 1926, and raised in Long Beach, Calif. by parents Charles and Grace Daggett, he was a wonderful brother to seven sisters and three brothers, all of whom preceded him in death. Jack enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in World War II. Jack married Carolyn Larson, and together they had three children, Richard (Pam), Debra (Jerry) and Donald. He had eight grandchildren, Michael, Erica, Robert, Jonathan, Carla, Jason, Matthew and Judah. Jack was a great-grandfather to Tori, Shawnee, Sierra, Zachary, Dylan, Madison, Jack, Kaylyn, River, Curran and Mason. He was excited to become a great-great-grandfather to Cami in 2012. Jack was a master brick and stone mason. He began his career alongside his father, Charles, in the Long Beach area. He was so proud to have created the business Daggett & Daggett Masonry in San Juan Capistrano, Calif. with his son, Don. His final years were spent creating the beautiful masonry that can be seen at Sunset Hills Memorial Park and the home of Chris Hitt, where a plaque in his honor was placed at the entry. Our family was blessed to have the most wonderful man for a father and grandfather. Jack was a best friend and mentor to many people. His unconditional love, care, sharp wit and teasing will be missed. We loved him so much and his passing leaves a very huge hole in our hearts and emptiness in our lives. "Aloha, dad." Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Friday, Jan. 25. Memorial and graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 26, all at Sunset Hills Mortuary, 24000 Waalew Road, Apple Valley, CA 92307. In honor of Jack, Hawaiian shirts are encouraged. Victor Valley and Sunset Hills Mortuaries will be handling the arrangements.
