JACK MANNING SR. Jack Manning Sr., 85, of Las Vegas, passed away peacefully Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013. He was born June 11, 1928 in Dallas, to William and Ethel Manning. Jack began his career by diligently serving in the U.S. Navy
as a crash firefighter
. The veteran also worked as a buyer for Clark County Wholesale for 39 years. Jack was a lifelong member of the Las Vegas Elks and Optimist Club and from there he met the love of his life, Catherine. The two happily wed in 1965 and were inseparable for 35 years. Jack's vivacious and charismatic spirit is carried on by his sister, Jo Helen Marble; his son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Cheryl Manning; and his grandchildren, Jaclyn, Jacob, Jamie and Nicole. His loved ones invite friends and family to attend his services at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89123, to remember one of the most selfless and loving men to have ever entered their lives. "Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy."
