JERRY HILSABECK

JERRY HILSABECK Jerry D. Hilsabeck, 64, of Las Vegas, passed away June 12, 2013. Jerry was born June 23, 1948 in Carroll, Iowa. Jerry grew up in Las Vegas since the age of five, and was a long-time resident of 60 years. He served his country as a sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1968-1970, and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Jerry was a gentle soul, full of positivity. He was great at touching people's lives, just by being the person he was. He always wore a smile upon his face for the entire world to see. He was the man with the "golden heart," better known to some as "The Mission Man," through his 36 years of working at Mission Linen Industries. Jerry's greatest loves in life were his two girls, his high school sweetheart and wife, of 48 years, Jeannie, and his daughter, Jacque. He enjoyed playing his guitar, a good game of golf, weekend breakfasts with the boys and "boot scootin'" to some good ol' country tunes. He also took great pleasure in the mountains, where he enjoyed his time hiking, hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard D. Hilsabeck; his twin brother, Larry G. Hilsabeck; and his parents, Jack and Darlene Hilsabeck. He is survived by his wife, Jeannie Hilsabeck; daughter, Jacquelyn Newlander; his older brother, Donavan Hilsabeck; his younger sister, Phyllis Rufo; as well as many nieces and nephews; and extended family. He will remain in our hearts forever. Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, at Palm Mortuary-Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89131.
