MSGT. LLOYD WICKERT U.S. Army, Retired Lloyd Frederick Wickert, 92, of North Las Vegas, passed away July 2, 2013. He was born Dec. 31, 1920, in West Point, Neb., and was a 40-year resident of Nevada. Lloyd retired from the U.S. Army and served during World War II and the Korean and Vietnam wars. During his time in the service, he received many honors and awards, including the Bronze Star. He also retired from the City of North Las Vegas Parks and Recreation Dept. Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife, of 60 years, Dorothy Wickert; parents, Penrose Wickert and Clara Moody; sisters, Evaline Wickert and Grace Wickert; brothers, Arnold Wickert, Marvin Wickert and Richard Wickert. Lloyd is survived by his daughters, Delilah (Joseph) Ornelas, Belinda (Danny) Davis and Cindy (Garry) Griffin; grandchildren, Joseph (Sam) Ornelas, Mark and Austin Griffin, Angela (Soaps) Sem and Harold (Michelle) Hurley; great-grandchildren, Anthony Ornelas, and Lily and Cale Sem; two brothers, Irvin Wickert and Howard (Marge) Wickert; and sister, Dorothy Fenske. Visitation will be 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday, July 20, with services following, both at the Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1730 No. Pecos Road, Las Vegas, NV 89115. Burial will be at noon, Monday, July 22, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City.
