PATRICIA HOAR Patricia Ann Hoar, born Nov. 4, 1945, passed away Feb. 26, 2013, at home with her husband and sister by her bedside. Pat was born in the Bronx, N.Y. She was later adopted by Helen and Lyle Startup of Ellenville, N.Y. Following her graduation from Ellenville High School, she was employed by Ellenville Electric Company, Ellenville Savings Bank as the secretary to the president and Pawling Savings Bank as corporate secretary. Pat met her future husband, Edwin E. Hoar III, while working at the Ellenville Savings Bank. They were married Aug. 28, 1982, at the home of Ed's parents, Edwin and Terrie Hoar. Pat and Ed relocated to Las Vegas, November 1988. Pat was employed by the Imperial Palace as secretary to the chief of security. Pat joined the Clark County District Attorney's office in 1995 as an administrative specialist in the VWAC unit. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Lyle Startup of Ellenville; and brothers, Robert Osterhoudt of Ellenville and Edward Osterhoudt of Homer, N.Y. Pat is survived by her husband, Edwin E. Hoar III; sisters, Joan Rogers of Dallas, Pa., and Kim Carey (Bruce) of Kerrville, Texas; many nieces and nephews; her mother-in-law; and brothers and sisters-in-law in Texas and New York. Pat was beloved by her husband, family, friends and coworkers for her love, kindness, patience and generosity. She adored her cats, Coco and Cleo. There are no words to describe how much she is loved and missed. Visitation will be 1-3 p.m., Sunday, March 3, with funeral services following, both at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S.
