ROY STREETMAN Roy Leon Streetman, 82, departed from this world Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, to meet his Lord and Savior. Roy was born in Oklahoma City, Okla., May 14, 1930. Shortly thereafter, he and his family moved to California, where they lived and worked in the Santa Maria Valley. Roy was the eldest son of three siblings. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Doris McKinnon and Wanda Merritt; parents, Earnest and Nova Streetman; and loving wife, Charlotte Streetman. At the age of 17, Roy enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served active duty in the Korean War, 1948-1950. Upon discharge, Sergeant Streetman was awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart Medals. In 1949, he married his sweetheart, Charlotte Marsh of Bakersfield, Calif. They were blessed with 60 years of marriage. Roy and his wife made their permanent home in Arroyo Grande, Calif., during which time Roy worked for Unocal Refinery for 35 years. For the past 25 years, Roy resided in Las Vegas, where he spent his retirement years working in and around his house, rebuilding cars and loving his family. Roy was an active member of the Victory Road Church of Christ in Henderson, where he was truly loved and will be greatly missed. Roy was a man of his word and a handshake was his bond. He was a loving husband, an insightful father, a loyal friend and a "Super Papa" with open arms for all. Roy is survived by two daughters, Diana Watson (Brent) of Templeton, Calif., and Deborah Reich of Las Vegas; four grandchildren, Amanda Woods and Brandon Watson, Hannah and Sarah Reich; four great-grandkiddos, Nathan and Braxton Woods and Maddox and Marley Watson; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Victory Church of Christ, 104 W. Victory Road, Henderson, In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Manuelito Children's Home of Gallup, N.M. Checks may be written to the Church of Christ.
