SASHA SEMENOFF Sasha Semenoff, Las Vegas violinist, bandleader and songwriter, passed away Jan. 5, 2013. He was born in Riga, Latvia, Sept. 20, 1924. He came to the U.S. in 1949. His wife, Sylvia, preceded him in death in 2000. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. As a Holocaust survivor, he felt the need to educate and lectured widely on the subject. His message was, "We must always remember and never let this happen again." He is survived by his sister, Selma; son, Paul; stepson, Alan Blum; grandsons, Aaron and Joel; and great-grandson, Brody. There will be a celebration of life at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, at Maggiano's in the Fashion Show Mall.
