YVONNE SALAY-TYSON Yvonne Louise Salay-Tyson, 23, of Springfield, Ill., passed away at 6:59 p.m., Nov. 3, 2012, near Philadelphia, Ill., killed by a drunk driver. She was born March 8, 1989 in Las Vegas, a daughter of Michael Andrew Salay and Terri Lynn Moorehead. She married Nicholas J. Tyson April 7, 2012 in Las Vegas. He survives, along with her parents, James and Terri Woodliff of Springfield, and Michael and Shelly Salay of Las Vegas; grandparents, Robert and Jean Salay of Las Vegas, Wanda Moorehead of Stilwell, Okla., and Charles and Doris Woodliff of Boulder City; brother, Eric Woodliff, sisters, Sydney and Elise Woodliff; and stepsisters, Cassie Saenz and Jenna Fisher. Yvonne graduated from Rochester High in Illinois, and was in the Global Studies program at the University of Illinois, Springfield. She was preparing for a career in the Peace Corps with her loving husband, Nicholas. If not for the selfish actions of another, she would have changed the world, as she had already changed for the better so many lives. "You will always be loved, sweet Yvonne." Services were held at the Abraham Lincoln Unitarian Universalist Congregation Wednesday, Nov. 7, with an estimated 450 people in attendance.
