AILSA JODRA Ailsa C. "Mima" Jodra, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed on to her eternal life with the Lord, Sept. 8, 2012. She was born in Fomento, Las Villas, Cuba. A resident of Las Vegas for 46 years, she was a homemaker, the eldest of five siblings. She is survived by her brother and three sisters. She leaves a legacy of memories to her surviving loving husband, of 61 years, Valentin; her three children, son, Robert, and daughters, Cary and Pucha. She is also survived by her three grandsons, David, Adam and Jason. She was blessed with three great-grandchildren; one, known to all of us as "DJ", whom she now joins in her eternal life; and two surviving ones, Amanda and Justin. Mima, as she was known by all of us in the family, including her closest friends, was a kind-hearted, generous, compassionate and loving person, as witnessed by all of those whom she touched. She was the most amazing cook of her ethnic Cuban cuisine, as said and witnessed by all those who tasted her incredible meals. She was blessed with a heart of gold and with the most beautiful and radiant smile anyone can possess. Her smile soothed and comforted all those she touched, and brightened many hearts. A great humanitarian, she was always ready and willing to help her family, friends and, many times, strangers, in times of need. She was a gift to humanity on loan to all of us for 78 years. Many hearts and minds were touched by her acts of kindness and generosity. "Mima, we will miss you every single day of our lives. Thank you for the beautiful memories you leave us with. They will be treasured and passed on for generations to come. You are an angel living in the Lord's kingdom, watching and protecting all of us from above, especially Papi. You live in our hearts and minds forever and ever. We love you and adore you, go now and rejoice in your eternal life and in the Kingdom of the Lord, for now it is yours eternally. May the peace of the Lord be with you and all of us." Visitation will be 4-11 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 11. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 12, both at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial following at Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
