ALAN WAIS Alan J. Wais, 85, of Henderson, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully in his sleep, Friday, Sept. 21, 2012. Al was a sweet and tender man. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Toshia, whom he loved dearly; his daughter, Diane Hennekey of Rochester, N.Y.; his stepdaughters, Michele Barrett and Lisa Moore; and eight grandchildren, all also of Rochester. Al joined the U.S. Navy as a teenager when World War II broke out and was proud of his service. He served on the SS Macon for two years and enjoyed annual reunions and monthly luncheons in Las Vegas with his shipmates. Before moving to Las Vegas, Al owned and operated a fruit farm in western New York. Services are pending. Alan will be missed by his family and friends.
