 LT. COL. ALBERT HANNEMAN U.S. Air Force, Retired Albert E. Hanneman, 80, of Las Vegas, passed away July 20, 2012. He was born Oct. 10, 1931 in Garden City, Kan., and was a 41-year resident of Nevada. A Kansas native Albert Hanneman loved building things and riding his Harley. He joined the U.S. Air Force July 13, 1951, and soon became a fighter pilot, flying the F84G, F86 F&H, F-100 C&D, and ended flying the F111. He spent a year both in Korea and Vietnam, where he flew the F-100 on more than 200 missions. He was decorated with the "Distinguished Flying Cross" the "Air Medal with seven Oak leaf clusters" and numerous other awards. Albert retired after 22 years as a Lt. Col. Shortly before the Korean War, he married Gwyn L. Brown on Valentines Day in 1954. They had four daughters, Terry, Sherry , Mary and Joni, Joni named after her grandfather. In his retirement years he enjoyed time with his family, riding his motorcycle, playing billiards and working on his computer. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mollie Hanneman; and his wife, of 50 years, Gwyn Hanneman. He is survived by his brothers, Leo and Harvey Hanneman; sister-in-law, Gay Morgon; his daughters, Terry, Sherry, Mary, and Joni; his grandchildren, Mandy, Jashua, Travis and Morgon; and four great-granddaughters, Grace, Emma, Greta and Bailey. Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, July 26. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., both at Davis Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Las Vegas, NV 89119. Graveside services will follow at 11 a.m., with Honor Guard, Live Taps, and Gun Salute. Donations in memory of Lt. Col. Albert E.
