ALFRED LEE Alfred Lee, 84, of Las Vegas, passed away Aug. 21, 2012. He was a loving, reliable and compassionate husband, father, grandfather and friend. Originally of Liverpool, N.Y., Alfred retired to Las Vegas in 2004 and resided in Sun City, Summerlin. During his life, he was an avid skier, boater, windsurfer and golfer and, until very recently, was reliably one of the first golfers of the morning at the Sun City golf courses. Al enlisted in the U.S. Army near the end of World War II, becoming a second lieutenant at the age of 18 and serving with the Corps of Engineers in Korea. He graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in engineering in 1951. He was also a 52-year member of the Masonic Lodge, as well as a member of the Knights Templar. Alfred is survived by his wife, of 62 years, Mary Jean Lee; sister, Gerry Burns of Liverpool, N.Y.; and his sister-in-law, Norma Lee of San Jose, Calif. He will also be greatly missed by his four children, Reverend Patricia Walz of Baldwinsville, N.Y., Daniel Lee of Las Vegas, Nancy Sexton of Marlborough, Mass., and David Lee of Stillwater, Minn.; as well as his 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. There is a memorial service planned for 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, at the St. Andrews Lutheran Church, 8901 Del Webb Blvd. in Sun City, Summerlin. For those who wish to make charitable contributions in lieu of flowers, the family suggests the St. Andrews Scholarship Fund of the St. Andrews Lutheran Church.
