ANNA WARREN Anna Clara Warren, resident of Sun City Summerlin, Las Vegas, passed away at 87, due to a lengthy illness. She was lovingly treated at the Nathan Adelson Hospice until her demise, Sept. 17, 2012. Anna was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., June 28, 1925. An honor student and editor of her high school newspaper, she also became a Red Cross nurse's aide during World War II in Seattle. She met her husband, Minard Victor Warren, in 1944 and they were married in Seattle in 1946. Minard was serving in the U.S. Navy as a sonar/radar technician on destroyer escorts, mainly in the Pacific Theater of Operations. Anna and Minard moved from Seattle to Portland, Ore., and then to California, where they remained for 40 years. Anna worked for the Santa Monica Unified School District until her retirement. Minard and Anna then retired to Sedona, Ariz., where they resided for 16 years before moving to the Del Webb retirement community of Summerlin in Las Vegas. Anna was very active in the Silver Tones singing club. Anna is survived by her husband, of 66 years, Minard Warren; sister-in-law, Ardis Sabbia; two children, Richard Alan Warren and Cathy Eileen Davis; daughter-in-law, Jacquelyn; and five grandchildren, Wendy Paduano (Bob), James Gray (Cookie), Amy Davis, Robert Davis IV and Joseph Davis (Erin). Anna was blessed to have five great-grandchildren as well, Victoria, Nicholas, Genevieve, Rocco Paduano and Alyssa Davis. Anna was a very sweet, loving and honorable woman who was not only the "light" of her family but also a wonderful friend and mentor to all who were privileged to know her. She will be missed by her family and friends and is already so blessed by God. She will never be forgotten. No services are planned. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nathan Adelson Hospice, 3150 N. Tenaya Way, Suite 350, Las Vegas, NV 89128.
