ARTHUR KELLY JR. Arthur Edward Kelly Jr., beloved husband of Jean Kelly, passed away Sept. 18, 2012 after a five-month battle, courageously fighting until the end. He was born Feb. 9, 1925, in McKeesport, Pa. Arthur's career included joining the U.S. Air Force at age 18. He flew for the U.S. National Guard, retiring as a major. He retired in Kansas City, Mo. and Kansas while working for TWA, which he retired from in 1985 at age 60. During his career with TWA, he was named flight deck Man of the Year, and flew Hubert Humphrey on his campaign for president. He lived in Oceanside, Calif. for several years before moving to Las Vegas to fly for Scenic Airlines. Next to flying, his great loves were his grandchildren, whom he lived for everyday. Art "Papa" Kelly will always be remembered for his big smile and being a friend to everyone. His always doing for others before himself and extreme kindness and love always came naturally. Arthur had a daughter, Nancy Colleen Kelly, who passed away at age 20 in 1965. He is survived by his wife, Jean Kelly; his daughter, Deborah Mae Kelly; his stepdaughter, Nicola; stepson, Paul; four grandchildren, Tyler, Keiran, Alex and Kris; and two great-grandchildren, Michael and Dilon. Services will be at 11:20 a.m., Friday, Nov. 2, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City.
