AZNIVE STASAK Obituary
AZNIVE STASAK Aznive "Ozzie" Sarjanian Stasak, 70, a resident of Las Vegas since 1978, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, after a long and courageous 12-year battle with ovarian cancer. She was born in Detroit, July 14, 1942, to Arshag "Oscar" and Rose Sarjanian. Ozzie was raised in Detroit, as an only child. Much like her father, Ozzie enjoyed entertaining others and bringing people together to celebrate life and special events, and she most certainly knew how to throw a great party. Ozzie, like her mother, Rose, was also a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother, who loved attending any event or celebration, whether it was a birthday, recital, sporting event or school program. Ozzie was always there with a camera in hand, making and cherishing every moment and memory and doing her part to make it as special as possible. Ozzie was happiest pleasing others and made everyone she met feel like part of her family. Ozzie cherished her family and her greatest legacy will be that she united us all, every chance she could and impressed upon us the importance of doing so and continuing that legacy for years to come. Ozzie is survived by her two daughters, Beverly (Dwayne) Dunseath and Julie (Mark) Torosian; her grandchildren, Dylan, Jordyn, Faith, Luke, Justin and Brandan; and her cousin, Margaret Keteian. She will be forever remembered as a faithful relative and friend to hundreds within the Las Vegas and Detroit communities, and to fellow cancer fighters/survivors for her loving, generous and courageous attitude and spirit. She was also a faithful member of the Armenian community and culture and, mostly, for her unyielding faith to the Lord, her God. Ozzie's generous love and courageous spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her to live life similarly, for the fruit of such brings a bounty of blessing and the love and admiration of countless friends and family. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11. Viewing will be 8-9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12, with services following, all at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial following at Palm Valley View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition. Please visit www.palmmortuary.com
