BARBARA WILLIAMS Obituary
BARBARA WILLIAMS Barbara Chandler Sawyer Williams, 84, of Henderson, passed away Nov. 15, 2012. She was born June 7, 1928, in Columbus, Ohio, to parents, Everett P. Chandler and Mary Turner, both deceased. Barbara was a retired independent contractor for a furniture company. Barbara also worked for the Clark County School District as a teacher's aide for children with special needs. Barbara attended Ohio State University and was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Columbus. Barbara loved her Ohio State University Buckeyes! Barbara was a member of AARP. Barbara loved to travel, especially to San Diego, and loved to cook specialty dishes of any type. Barbara enjoyed reading mystery novels and other magazines and publications. Barbara loved playing her piano. The songs, "Misty" and "Here's to Life," as well as other fine jazz tunes were very special to her. In 1996, she married Jacob A. Williams of Henderson, and they were happily married ever since. Barbara was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother! Barbara was a very caring, loving person to her family and friends. She had an affectionate and wonderful smile that lit up the room. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Everett P. and Mary Chandler; and son, Randall Hunter Smith. She is survived by her husband, of 16 years, Jacob A. Williams; son, C. Kevin Smith; and granddaughters, Jennifer A. Smith and Lauren K. Smith, all of Columbus, who called her "Grand B." She is also survived by a great-grandson, Samuel Hunter Ross; and brother, Everett A. Chandler, Esq., retired, of Cleveland, and his family. Barbara also leaves behind many other family members, including Jacob's children and their spouses, Adrienne and Albert Crosley, Kyle Williams, Yvette Williams, Karyne Williams and Kyle Williams Jr.; as well as numerous close friends, especially Doris and Earl Shorter and Charlotte and Ralph Pryor. Barbara loved and adored them all. We thank Dr. Badar Anwar and his associates and staff, CVS Pharmacy at Anthem, St. Rose Hospital-Siena Campus and Health South Rehab Hospital and their staff for the great service they provided for Barbara. She is in Heaven now. Private services for Barbara are pending.
