BERNIE HALL U.S. Navy, Retired The world has lost Bernard "Bernie" Hall, a great person, humorist, and family man, July 12, 2012, at 82. Bernie passed peacefully from a short battle with cancer. He was an amazing man with many accomplishments. He was a graduate of Dakota Wesleyan University and attended the University of Southern California Business School. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1955 during the Korean War on the USS Princeton and USS Helena CA-75. He was a sales manager in the textile business for over 40 years at United Merchants and Manufacturers (Los Angeles) and Como Textiles (St. Louis). Post-retirement, he was employed by Walmart as a sales associate in Las Vegas. Family was his greatest accomplishment. He was married to the love of his life, Jane Hall, for almost 54 years. He was the loving father to daughters, Maureen (Hall) and Kerrie (Burke), and son-in-law, Rudy (Burke). He was adored by his granddaughter, Breanna Burke. He also surrounded himself with many great family members and friends throughout his life. His buddies from the U.S. Cruiser Sailors Association; his Walmart friends; his brothers and sisters-in-law and their families; and all of his many friends from South Dakota, California, St. Louis, and Las Vegas. A special thank you to all of those unsung heroes in the medical field who cared for him, Dr. Danka Michaels, Dr. James Sanchez, Dr. Dan Curtis, and Creekside Home and Hospice Care. In lieu of services, our dad would ask that when you are enjoying a "libation," you raise your glass and toast to the "great life of Bernie." He will be missed, but never forgotten.
