BEVERLY MINNEAR Beverly Minnear, 69, of Las Vegas, passed away peacefully at her home Sept. 11, 2012. She was born March 22, 1943, in Bay City, Mich. She resided in Las Vegas for over 40 years, but visited her father frequently in the 1950's and 1960's. She was everything to her family and friends, the North Star, the guiding light, the family nucleus. Her bridge prowess was great, however the distraction of grandchildren proved the undoing of many bids. And that was also her achilles heel. Marek and AJ could do no wrong. They were her North Star, her guiding light, her nucleus. It was their presence that made her smile infectious to all. Precious heirlooms were their playthings as she fed them grapes and fanned them with palm fronds. Her family, her daughters, her nephew, her friends. She made their lives whole. Her presence brightened the world with her laughter and love. She will be missed, loved always, and forever remembered. Bev worked for CCSD as a speech pathologist and administrator (principal of Variety School). She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Salazar and Dr. Rebecca Peplinski; her grandsons, Marek and AJ; and her nephew, Brian Heidtman. Beverly was an avid gardener, a Christmas enthusiast, an expert in her fields of work, a gourmet cook, and a gracious hostess. Services will be at 2 p.m., Sept 22, at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.
