BOB LEONARD Sr. Obituary
BOB LEONARD SR. Bob Leonard Sr. of Henderson, passed away Monday, evening, April 10, 2017, at his home, after a short illness. His passing was peaceful and he was surrounded by his treasured family. Bob and his wife, of 60 years, Doris (Denham) were high school sweethearts and were married Feb. 9, 1957, shortly after graduation from Akron Central High School in 1956. Bob attended the Akron Barber College in 1965, where he acquired a love for what would become his lifelong vocation of barbering. Bob worked at a variety of barber shops in the Akron and Cuyahoga Falls areas, most notably The Golden Shears on Bailey Road and Kingsmen (both the original location at Lakemore Plaza and upon relocation to Albrecht Ave). Bob and Doris both had a love for gaming and the western United States and after many junkets to Las Vegas over the years they took the ultimate leap and moved permanently to the Las Vegas area in 1996. Bob continued barbering three days a week right up to the end at Village Barber Shop located on Horizon Ridge at Eastern Ave., in Henderson. Bob had a passion for life, family, golf and all Cleveland, Ohio State, and UNLV sports teams, most specially his beloved Cleveland Browns. The Cleveland Cavalier championship season of 2016 was a special highlight for him. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Leonard; and his mother, Theda (Fellenbaum) Leonard. He is survived by his sisters, Carolyn (George) Mihavics and Cheryl (Howard) Herendeen; wife, Doris (Denham) Leonard; sons, Bob Leonard Jr. (Chris) and Don Leonard (Debbie); grandchildren, Rachel Rhodes (Steve), Ryan Leonard (Anastasia), Staci Leonard and Alicia Leonard (Grant); great-grandchildren, Tristan, Blaiz, Eva, Zyler, Zora, Ryker and Franklin; and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. Celebration of life for Bob will be 2-4 p.m. Saturday, April 15, at MacDonald Sun City Ranch Community Center, 2020 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway (Desert Willow Golf Course). In lieu of flowers, donations can be mailed to New Wilmington Mission Conference, 229 S. Market St., New Wilmington, PA 16142, in memory of Bob Leonard.
