 CARMEN CASTANON Carmen Castanon, 88, of Westwood, Kan., loving mother and grandmother, passed away Nov. 26, 2012. Mrs. Castanon was born May 29, 1924, in Habana, Cuba, the daughter of Manuel and Carmen (Lopez) Fernandez. Mrs. Castanon resided in Las Vegas from 1976 until she moved to Westwood in 2002. She loved to cook her fantastic Cuban dishes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ismael Castanon, Aug. 13, 2002. Mrs. Castanon is survived by sons, Antonio Castanon and partner, Don Greenwell of Westwood, and Luis Castanon and husband, Dr. Weston Edwards of Minnesota; brother, Manolo Fernandez of Madrid, Spain; grandchildren, Amanda, Chip, Kelsey, Andrew, Jacob and Annie; her beloved dog, Sam; and extended family and friends. Committal services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 3, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to
