 CHARLES FICKES JR. Charles R. "Chuck" Fickes Jr., 59, of Las Vegas, was taken from us unexpectedly Jan. 18, 2013. He was born Dec. 6, 1953, the son of the late Charles R. and Mildred Fickes in Baltimore, and raised in Phoenix. Chuck retired after 33 years of service with Lloyd's Refrigeration as a pipe fitter with the Local 525 and had also served our country in the U.S. Air Force. Chuck always had a smile on his face. His passions included spending time at the dunes with his toys, family and friends and always lending a hand to others. He was loved by all. He will be remembered for his sense of humor. He is survived by his beloved wife, of 34 years, Rosario; sons, Edgar and Charles "Charlie" Fickes III; daughters, Michelle (David) Creighton and Rosemarie (Jeremiah) Johnson; brother, Richard Fickes; sister, Linda Heaton; grandchildren, Ajahzi, Alexis, Brendon, Jeremiah Jr. and Aaliyah. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005.
