SGT. CHARLES SABADINI U.S. Air Force, Retired Charles G. Sabadini, of Las Vegas, passed away peacefully Jan. 27, 2017, while on a Panama Canal cruise. Charlie was born April 24, 1934, in Jamaica Plain, Mass., the son of the late Louis and Mary (nee Willett) Sabadini of Jamaica Plain and Quincy. He was the beloved husband of the late Eiko Takashima; and brother of the late Ruth Lance. He is survived by his brothers, Louis of Norwell, Mass., and Lawrence and his wife, Carol of Norwood, Mass.; and sisters, Claire Rochefort of Hingham, Mass., and Marie McKenzie of Yarmouth Port, Mass. He leaves behind his niece and Godchild, Amelia Sabadini; as well as nieces, Laura Sabadini, Patricia Gentilotti, Nancy Broderick, Susan Beauregard and Miyako Katayama; and nephew, Anthony Sabadini. Charlie served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed both at home and abroad during his 22-year career. His service included two tours of duty in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Air Force in 1972 and settled in Las Vegas with his wife. He was employed by the City of Las Vegas, and after his retirement, he travelled extensively, Hawaii being one of his favorite places to visit. Charlie had a magnetic personality, making many, many friends during his lifetime. He will be missed by all. A memorial Mass will be said for Charlie at 8:30 a.m. Friday, March 24, at St. Francis de Sales Church, 1111 Michael Way, in Las Vegas. Burial will be at a later date in Weymouth, Mass.
