CLARA RIBBLE Clara Nell Ribble (nee Sandifer), 83, passed away peacefully July 23, 2017, surrounded by her loving family, at Nathan Adelson Hospice. Clara was born Oct. 1, 1933, to Bea and Luther Sandifer, in Minneola, Texas. She moved with her family to the San Fernando Valley in 1940. At the age of 16, she met Sergeant First Class William H. Ribble. They married March 13, 1950, at Ft. Casey, Wash. William was killed Sept. 11, 1950, in the line of duty while saving his men during a tsunami in Japan. Clara was seven months pregnant. She gave birth to Sharon Dec. 24, 1950, the same day her sister also gave birth to a baby girl. She moved to the beach the next year and bought a home at the age of 17. She later met Sam Avoian and they had a son, Samuel D., July 2, 1959. They moved back to the San Fernando Valley, where they lived and raised their family. Clara had two grandsons, Brian and Mark, who she loved deeply. She moved with them, first to Temecula and then to Las Vegas in 1993. Clara was a very strong and loving woman and was there to help her family and friends in times of need. People were drawn to her and everyone who knew her loved her. She made and had so many good friends through her passions of water skiing, dancing, children, traveling and especially spending time with her grandchildren and watching them perform. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Bea and Luther Sandifer; brothers, Jack and Bill Sandifer; and sisters, Loretta Sandifer and Betty Ivey. She is survived by her children, Sharon (Wayne) Triola and Sam Avoian; grandchildren, Brian (Mindy) and Mark (Cate) Triola, and Adam and Samantha Avoian; brother, Jim (Nanci) Sandifer and family; sister, Shirley (Ray) Lee and family; and nieces and nephews from Betty, Bill and Jack.
