DAL-JOON LEE Dal-Joon "DJ" Lee, 71, of Henderson, lost his two-year battle with bile duct cancer and was called to be with the Lord Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010. He was born May 30, 1939, in Wonju, South Korea, and was a 30-year resident of Nevada. DJ is survived by his beloved wife, of 35 years, He-Ja; children, Mira Yokoyama of California, Monika Lee of Henderson, and Jeffrey Lee of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren. When DJ had the strength, he would hold and play with his grandson, Teddy. Not only was he a wonderful, dad, husband and grandfather, DJ was quite the athlete. He was a professional table tennis player and won six consecutive championships in the U.S. Open Table Tennis (from 1968 to 1973). Their profession as professional husband and wife table tennis players furthered their love to travel internationally and even lived in places throughout Europe together. After retiring from table tennis, he picked up golf, was hooked and never looked back. We will all miss DJ, this lovable friend to most, wonderful dad to his children and family, and best friend to his wife. There will be a celebration of DJ's life at 2 p.m. this Saturday, Sept. 25, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89123, (702) 464-8500.
