DALE BROCKETT JR. Dale Edison Brockett Jr. was born Feb. 7, 1924, and passed away at age 88, in Las Vegas, Sept. 17, 2012, from Alzheimer's. Dale grew up in Santa Ana, Calif. and moved to Boulder City. His move was in conjunction with his father's U.S. Army re-activation and transfer to Camp Williston (1940-1944). Dale married Marilyn Ballard. He spent the remainder of World War II in the Philippines as enlisted U.S. Army. Returning to the States, Dale and Marilyn moved to Santa Ana, and returned to Boulder City in 1950 to work for Stauffer Chemical. Dale also worked at Titanium Metals, Nevada Test Site, and Pacific Engineering. He co-owned the ARCO gas station in Boulder City, and spent time in Saudi Arabia with Homes and Narver Constructors, Inc. He retired with Raytheon Inc. at the Nevada Test Site. Dale held public office in Boulder City as a city councilman, Mason, enjoyed Ham radio, and was a member of the Boulder City LDS Bishopric. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn; his second wife, Kathleen; and his companion, Gene. He is survived by his sons, Bruce Brockett, James and Frankie Brockett of Las Vegas, and Steven and Mary Brockett of Sequim, Wash.; he has six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He will be remembered as a devoted father and grandfather. Burial arrangements are with Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City.
