DALE DUNSON Obituary
DALE DUNSON Dale Eugene Dunson, 89, of Las Vegas, passed away May 10, 2017. He was born Sept. 8, 1927, in Kenton, Ohio, and was a 50-year resident of Nevada. Dale served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a pharmacist's mate. He later went on to become a pilot and flew a bi-plane as a crop duster and mail carrier. He worked for many years as an airline mechanic for Bonanza, Hughes Air West, and Republic Airlines. Dale played guitar for many years with his "Double Eagle" country western band. He and his wife, Bea, loved to camp and fish. He belonged to the Masons and the VFW. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Frances (Biederman) Dunson; brothers, Conneth, Richard, Clifford and Raymond; stepson, Frank Lewis; and grandson, Ian Dale Dunson. Dale is survived by his wife, of 47 years, Beatrice (Vogely); daughter, Sue; son, Robert (Clo); stepdaughter, Sherrie Welsh; grandchildren, Adam, Juliana (Zak) Dayton, Michael Lewis and Danielle Hoover; sisters, Rosemarie Sorgen and Helen (Eldon) Prater; brother, Floyd; many wonderful nieces, nephews, "adopted" grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many wonderful friends. Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City. Luncheon will follow.
