DENNIS WHITING Dennis N. Whiting, 60, of Las Vegas, passed away Jan. 2, 2013. He was born Aug. 14, 1952, second of three sons of Mark and Ione Whiting. Dennis was a native Las Vegan. He attended Utah State University in Logan, Utah for almost four years studying wildlife forestry management. He served a mission, 1971-1973, for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Central America, which at that time included Honduras, Panama, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua. He married Linda Karen Bodine June 4, 1983. To this union came one son, Colin Bodine Whiting. Dennis worked continuously the past 35 years as an employee and managing officer of the family-owned business, Whiting Brothers. He is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Colin; and brothers, Phil M. Whiting and Craig C. Whiting. Viewing will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, with services following, at 1 p.m., both at the LDS Viking Chapel, 3901 E. Viking Road, Las Vegas.
