DIANA SCHON-BOYD Diana Ruth Schon-Boyd, 62, of Las Vegas, passed away at her home Feb. 5, 2013. Diana was born in Ft. Worth, Texas, and was a U.S. Army veteran, dedicated surgical nurse, and devoted wife and mother. Diana moved to Las Vegas from Illinois after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, then leukemia. She won the fight with leukemia but not MS. Diana, with her smile, warmed the hearts of those she came in contact, always placing herself last in caring for others. Diana was a very special lady, well received, respected and loved by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Erica Hoag; and sister, Rebecca Cromwell. She is survived by her husband, Fred M. Boyd; her parents, Ruth and Jesse "Jack" Cromwell of Round Rock, Texas; brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Barbra Cromwell of Cameron, Texas, Cliff and Lois Cromwell of Herrington, Del., and George and Mary Boyd of Brea, Calif.; numerous nephews and nieces; and cousins. Memorial services for Diana will be announced at a later date to include her requested interment in Grapevine, Texas at the gravesite of her daughter, Erica, whom she lost to SIDS at 18 months. Contributions in Diana's memory may be made to her supported charities, Shriner's Hospital for Children, the MS Society, and the SIDS Foundation.
