iconDONNA FLIPPO Donna Dolores Henniger Flippo, 56, of North Las Vegas, passed away Sept. 24, 2012. She was born Jan. 24, 1956 in Ashland, Pa., and was a resident of Nevada for nine years. She served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1981-1987, and was retired from telecommunications. Donna was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother. She retired at age 47 from Verizon, formerly New Jersey Bell Telephone and Bell Atlantic, after 30 years of service. She then moved from Pennsylvania to Las Vegas with her husband in 2003. She loved reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, word search puzzles, listening to country music; especially the country group Alabama, spending time with her granddaughter and traveling to national parks with her husband and their dachshund, Oscar Wiener. She was an avid sports fan who loved her Minnesota Vikings and an Alabama fan club member since inception of the club. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dolores; her sister, Amy; and her brother, Paul. She is survived by her husband, of 24 years, Gary; children, Robert (Julie) Flippo and Rachael (Jansen) Howell; her father, Donald (Barb) Henninger; her brother, Frank (Melody) Henninger; her sister, Janet (Scott) Keuper; four nephews, Matthew, Jonathan, David and James; two nieces, Erin and Ashley; a great-nephew, Lukas; and a granddaughter, Avery. No services will be held. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the Ovarian Cancer Alliance Network or the Women's Cancer Center and Research Fund in Nevada.
