Obituary Condolences

EDNA KENYON Edna May Kenyon, of Henderson, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, family member and friend to many now broken-hearted people, passed away Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at St. Rose Hospital in Henderson, with family present. She was born in India, May 28, 1937, moved to the United Kingdom as a young woman and spent her adult life divided between living in London, England, a city that she loved, and various places in the United States, including Portsmouth, N.H., Cape Cod, Mass., and Tulsa, Okla., before moving to Henderson in 1994. She lived an interesting and varied life, travelled all over the world and loved meeting people from different countries and cultures. She was president of the International Club in Tulsa, and was extremely bright and talented at whatever she turned her hand to, including a career as an antiques dealer in London, a realtor in Tulsa, and a time share sales executive in Las Vegas, until she retired. She loved life, her family, people and animals, exploring spiritual pursuits, playing bridge, cooking, especially Indian and traditional English food, her church family at St. Timothy's, watching "Big Bang Theory" and having a good laugh. She had a very generous nature, open mind and loving heart and was a great listener and mentor to many people. Christmas was her favorite holiday and she always made it very special for her family. She had been in declining health for the past year but always rallied back and put up a very brave fight during her hospital admission to try and make it home to her family for one last Christmas. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Evan Allen and staff who took excellent care of her and kept her comfortable and able to continue to enjoy her life during this past year. We especially want to thank our beloved priest, Fr. Mike Annis, who gave her and her family tremendous support, comfort and love. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo R. Kenyon; parents, Beryl and Melville; brothers, Arthur and Eddie; and sister, Connie. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Smee and her husband, David, of Henderson; son, Graham Bryant of Winter Park, Fla.; grandson, Christopher Bryant, whom she raised and considered her son, and his wife, Cheryl, of Henderson; stepdaughters, Sandy Bryant of Collinsville, Okla., and Pam Krinock and her husband, Jeff, of Menoher, Pa.; former husband and very dear friend of 55 years, William Bryant of Henderson; sisters, Marie Howson and Wynifred Hopper of Australia; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family; and beloved cats, Bingo and Mischief. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, 43 Pacific Ave., Henderson, and all are welcome to both. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society, NSPCA or St. Timothy's Church.
