Obituary Condolences

EUGENE BARCELON Eugene Edward Barcelon, of Las Vegas, passed away Nov. 13, 2012. He was born June 9, 1937, in Colorado but grew up in Las Vegas attending the downtown 5th St. Grammar School and Las Vegas High School. He served in the U.S. Army as a radio operator and message decoder during the Cuban Missile Crisis and he was a station agent for Western Airlines. He also owned and operated an interior design business in Sarasota, Fla. called Barcelon Interiors, in addition to a clothing store in Las Vegas called the Unique Boutique. Gene ultimately had a long career as a party planner and special events organizer. He handled special events and management at the Shark Club for seven years before moving on to other properties. Eugene, "Barce," is survived by too many friends to mention. He was a unique and wonderful person and will be greatly missed by all of us. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, please have a toast in his honor.
