 GARY KORELL Gary Alan Korell, 73, passed away Sept. 5, 2012 after a lengthy struggle with renal failure. He was born in Nebraska, Sept. 1, 1939, and moved with his parents, Harold Korell and Mabel "Kay" Korell, to California, his mother's home. He grew up in Fremont, Calif., and later served on the USS Canberra in the early 1960's, where his keen scientific mind was put to use as meteorologist. After settling in southern California, he worked for the IRS. He loved cars, art, photography, and his sons, Bailey Korell and Cameron Korell. After retiring, Gary moved to Las Vegas in 2001 to be near his mother, who adored him; and his sister, Marilyn Benoit and her husband, Richard, who cared for him during his last years, and who will miss him very much. No services are planned.
