GARY SELPH Gary Arlen Selph, beloved husband, father and grandfather, went to be with his Lord Jesus in Heaven Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at 1:50 a.m., He was born Oct. 16, 1940, in Houston. His parents were Ira and Erma Selph. Gary was retired from the casino industry. He enjoyed several hobbies like painting, designing and making jewelry, watching sports on television and spending time with his wife, Barbara, and children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed shopping for things like cologne and watches. He was loved by everyone who knew him. He had a love for animals and the animals could sense his love for them and drew near to him. His little dog, Lilly, loved him so much that she would follow him wherever he went in the house. He enjoyed telling jokes and making people laugh. He often had trouble sleeping, so he would spend time reading the Bible and praying on his back porch in the middle of the night. He wrote a neat story about his life as a child called "Our First House." He was very creative and gifted in so many ways. He is survived by his wife, of 39 precious years, Barbara; and his children, Eva, June, Tammy, Kevin, Tim and Vanessa; and nine grandchildren, Brittany, Joanna, Janae, Jacob, Tony, SaraBeth, Elizabeth, Natalie and Hope. All his children were able to be with him during his final days, which made him so happy. He had a full life of many unforgettable experiences and will be missed by all those who knew him. This world has lost a sweet man with a huge heart, but we look forward to the day when we will see him again and spend forever with him and Jesus in Heaven. A life celebration was previously held Monday, Oct. 29, at his daughter's home. He desired his ashes to be spread in Red Rock Canyon.
