1931 - 2017 Obituary Condolences
GENE FERBERDINO Gene James Ferberdino, 85, passed away Friday, March 10, 2017. Gene was born March 27, 1931, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Sandy Ferberdino and Julia Appierto Ferberdino and was the eldest of two children. Gene married his wife, Virginia Pasqualone, in 1955. Gene, Virginia, and their children Ray, Sheryl and Karen moved to North Carolina in 1961, spending seven years in Raleigh and three years in Clinton, N.C. The family moved to Arcadia, Calif. in 1971, where Gene worked for Bell and Howell and Jennings Electric, before purchasing and managing Best Gasket Company. Gene and Virginia happily retired to Las Vegas in 1995, where Gene enjoyed golfing, bowling and their cruise ship vacations. After the passing of Gene's wife, Virginia, in 2009, he met a wonderful woman, Jean Salomonson, and together they enjoyed dancing, golfing, their love of cars and being grandparents. Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; and sister, Carmella Buildt. Gene is survived by his children, Raymond J. Barshick and his wife, Karen, of Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., Sheryl A. Larson and her husband, Les, of Monrovia, Calif., and Karen M. Buck and her husband, Steve, of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.; four grandchildren, Maica Peterson and her husband, Kris, Nick Barshick, Kristen Davis and her husband, John, and Kate Reagan and her husband, Joe; and a number of nieces and nephews. Gene had five great-grandchildren, Eli and Matelle Peterson, Nathan Davis, and Kieran, Declan, and Brendan Reagan. Gene and his wife, Virginia, were laid to rest Tuesday, March 28, at Rose Hills Cemetery in Whittier, Calif.
