GEORGE RADZAVAGE George J. Radzavage, of Las Vegas, passed away Nov. 29, 2012, at home with family after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's disease. George was born Aug. 20, 1934 in Shenandoah, Pa., to George and Domicelle Radzavage. George served in the U.S. Air Force and, when he returned home, he met the love of his life, and wife of almost 55 years, Violet Nothstein, with whom he loved and raised four children. After living in Delaware for several years, George moved his family to Summit Hill, Pa., where he started up and ran a very successful confection and snack wholesale business. George and family retired to Las Vegas in 1977. George will be forever remembered for his sharp wit and sarcastic humor, his love of classic country music, and mostly his love and care of his beloved family. He was preceded in death in September by his sister, Anna Radzavage, also of Shenandoah. George is survived by his loving family, wife, Violet; daughter, Lee Ann Appell of Fredonia, Ariz., Donna Washer of Las Vegas, and Janet Taylor of Mesa, Ariz.; son, George Jr. of Las Vegas; as well as five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren (who he loved to sing to). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; as well as his two sisters, Antoinette Dentinger and Dolores Bykowsky of Shenandoah. Family services will be private.
