GEORGE SHERMAN JR. George Sherman Jr., 63, of Las Vegas, passed away Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013. He was born Nov. 14, 1949, in Champagne, Ill. A resident of Las Vegas since 1964, he graduated from Rancho High School and attended UNLV. He entered the entertainment field but his first love was cars. George also loved high fashion and was health conscious. A very friendly free spirit, he never met a stranger and his unique, charismatic personality gave him the ability to make anyone feel special. George was dearly loved and will be missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Enid Sherman; and brother, Nicholas A. McFarlane. He leaves behind brother, Thomas W. Sherman; sisters, Patricia Sherman-Vowell (Jim) and Sharon R. Daun (Terry); sister-in-law, Susan K. McFarlane; extended family, Bozie Brooks; nephews, Jamal and Josiah Brooks and James "J.P." Vowell; nieces, Jacquolyn Brooks-Lowery (Derek) and Joy and Jewel Brooks. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 25. Funeral services will be at 9 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 26, both at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
