MSGT. HAROLD UBERNOSKY U.S. Marine Corps, Retired Harold Wayne "Ski" Ubernosky, age 83, a 30-year resident of Henderson, passed away Dec. 22, 2012. He was born in Somerville, Texas, Oct. 22, 1929. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, and the Korean and Vietnam wars, Ski received the Bronze Star Air Medal and Purple Heart. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association (Branch 279). After retiring from the Marine Corps in 1968, he received an AA degree in aeronautics from Chaffey College in California. He retired from Hoover Dam in 1992 as a maintenance control officer. Ski was preceded in death by his son, James Lee Ubernosky; and his wife, Collette. Ski is survived by his daughter, Linda Finkenbiner; and sons, Doug and Ron Ubernosky; stepson, Guy Johnson; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Edwin Lee (Sonny) Ubernosky; and very close friends and neighbors the McRay family, Chuck Bertram and the Gentile family. Viewing will be at 8 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, with services at 9 a.m., both at Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Burial following, at 10:40 a.m. at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005.
