HELEN KOTTUM Obituary
HELEN KOTTUM Helen Kottum passed away November 7, 2017, at the age of 100. She was born August 9, 1917, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Bert and Emma Ableman. She grew up in Chloride, Arizona, also lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and was a 60-year resident of Las Vegas. Helen, along with her identical twin sister, Harriet, loved the "Runnin Rebels" and was a devoted follower during Coach Tark's reign. For the last 14 years, Helen and her sister enjoyed life at the Las Ventanas Summerlin. She remained sharp throughout her years, working the crossword puzzles daily. She enjoyed a wonderful birthday celebration when she turned 100 featuring the staff from from Las Ventanas, visits from special friends, team mascot, "Lil' Red" and a television appearance. She will be missed. Helen was preceded in death by her sister, Harriet Welcher; and husbands, Bert Claridge and Duke Kottum. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Thoda Claridge; grandchildren, Dave Claridge, Dan (Kim) Claridge and Denise (Kevin) Meyer; great-grandchildren, Nick Cody and Bo, and Elsa and Owen Meyer; niece, Barbara Ellison and her children, Paul, Debbie, Desiree and Steve, and Emilee Brechbiel, her husband, Dennis, and their children, Lee and Brian; and special friend, Heather Kuenzi. Per Helen's request, no services are scheduled.
