iconJACK CHRISTENSEN Jack A. Christensen passed away July 14, 2012, after a lengthy illness with cancer. He was born in Sterling, Alberta, Canada, July 11, 1939. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1961 and served in Vietnam. He was proud to be a U.S. citizen. Jack graduated from Brigham Young University in Salt Lake City. He went on to work for Merrell National Pharmaceuticals. Jack worked in the pharmaceutical field for 38 years, and had to retire due to his illness. He was preceded in death by both his parents, Norma and Allen Christensen. He is survived by his wife, Jana Christensen. They were married July 31, 1971 in Denver. Also, his son, Mark Christensen (36) of Albuquerque, N.M.; his brother, Garth and sister-in-law, Shirlee, and their five children. Also family in Slovak Republic. Services will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, July 17, at Palm Mortuary, 6701 N. Jones Blvd. There will be a reception following the burial at the LDS chapel on Alta and Town Center Dr. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made in Jack's memory to the Cancer Institute and the Town Center Ward of the Latter-day Saints.
