1935 - 2017 Obituary Condolences
JACK LASKY John "Jack" William Lasky, of Henderson, passed away March 6, 2017. Jack was born Sept. 28, 1935, to John J. and Margaret Bridget Lasky in Pittsburgh. Jack was born the year that the Pittsburg Steelers were formed and was a lifelong fan. Jack retired as a senior chief petty officer of the U.S. Coast Guard, serving during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He went on to retire as a building inspector from the City of Las Vegas and graduated from the College of Southern Nevada. He was a man of many talents, an avid golfer with two holes-in-one, a singing talent known the world over and a late-blooming writer, publishing a memoir entitled, "You Don't Know Jack." He was preceded in death by his father; mother; sisters, Rosemary Henzler and Rita Messmer; and his brother, Robert J. His beloved wife, of 61 years, Nancy, survives him. His life will be forever cherished by his four children, Inez Buckmeyer, Yvette Fitts, John T. Lasky and Jonsie Lasky Rogers; his grandchildren, Leilani Armstrong, Isaac and Jesse Fitts, Brianna Buckmeyer, Chelsea Rogers, Zachary Gay, and Jacob and John Joseph Lasky; his great-grandchildren, Leila, Posie and Zephyr Armstrong, Alabama Rai Buckmeyer, and Sebastian and Isla Fitts; and a host of extended family members and friends. He is now sailing and serving under the supreme commander, visitation will be your call. Memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 19, at Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Celebration will continue at Black Mountain Golf Course, 500 Greenway Road, Henderson. Burial will be at a later date at Southern Nevada Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Boulder City.
