JACK SIMONS Jack Simons, a 30-year resident of Las Vegas, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Dec. 6, 2012. Born April 24, 1924, Jack was raised in New York City by his English immigrant parents and drove a cab on the streets of New York. In 1981, he decided to follow his family to Las Vegas, where he continued to drive a cab until his retirement in 1996. A beloved husband, father, brother, "Poppi," father-in-law, uncle and friend to many, he was married for 66 years to his childhood sweetheart, Lynn. Together they have three loving sons, Bruce (Vicki), Lon (Elizabeth) and Todd (Lisa); along with five loving grandchildren who adored their "Poppi," Melissa, Brandon, Lauren, Joshua and Alexa. Jack was a World War II veteran and a member of the 461st Bomb Group Liberaiders. A proud veteran, he took great pride in his service for his country. Services and burial will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, at King David Chapel, 2697 E. Eldorado Lane, Las Vegas, NV 89120. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jack's name to the .
